Privacy: Compressed entirely in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
No. This Image Compressor runs entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images are never transmitted over the network. All compression, resizing, and format conversion happens locally on your device.
You can upload JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, SVG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, and ICO files. The output can be saved as JPEG, PNG, or WebP. When set to 'Auto', the tool keeps the same format as your input (defaulting to JPEG for uncommon formats).
PNG is a lossless format, so the quality slider does not affect its file size. The browser's Canvas API may produce a larger PNG than the original if the original was optimized with specialized tools. For smaller files, try converting to WebP or JPEG instead.
If your image exceeds the chosen resolution (e.g., 1920px), it will be proportionally scaled down before compression. This is useful for reducing both file size and pixel dimensions at once. Selecting 'Original' keeps the image at its native resolution.
Each individual file can be up to 50 MB. You can process up to 20 files in a single session. Very large images may take a few seconds to process depending on your device's hardware.
For JPEG and WebP, the slider controls the lossy compression level. Lower values mean more aggressive compression (smaller files, more artifacts). 70–80% offers a good balance between quality and file size. For PNG output, the slider has no effect because PNG is always lossless.
